Nguyen Thi Anh and her husband, Duong Van Dung, who are both 70, are both suffering from serious health problems. Anh has cervical cancer, while Dung has struggled with osteoarthritis for many years. They have no children.

On December 10, representatives from Dantri and local authorities visited the couple and transferred VND94,309,002, which readers sent to the newspaper's charity fund to help them.
Receiving the donations, Anh sincerely thanks Dantri, the authorities, and all the kind donors for their tremendous support. She said that many donors had also visited and given them gifts.
"I've never dared to dream of having such a house and that large sum of money," she said. "Many people are also coming to us with presents. We'll use the money to continue our hospital treatment. Thank you so much for your kind help."
Deputy Secretary of Tan Loc Bac Commune Party Committee Nguyen Van Phuoc also thanked Dantri and donors for their meaningful support of Anh and her husband.
"They had some of the biggest challenges in our commune," the official said. "Local authorities and people have also tried to help, but due to our limited resources, they need further support to overcome their difficulties."
